How to get Dutch followers on Instagram: build them or buy them?

profile dutch instagram followers

You get Dutch followers on Instagram by making your account recognisably Dutch: captions in Dutch, locations in the Netherlands and collaborations with Dutch accounts. If you want a Dutch base faster, you can buy Dutch Instagram followers from us: they are 100% real and active Dutch profiles. Below you can read how both routes work, and what you can and cannot expect.

Why Dutch followers matter

For a local business, an expat building a network in the Netherlands, a Dutch creator living abroad or an artist who performs in the Netherlands, followers in the Netherlands are the audience that counts. They understand your captions, and they can become customers or come to your gig. Brands also look at where your audience lives before they work with you: a Dutch brand gets little out of an account whose followers are mostly abroad.

How to see where your followers are from

With a professional account (creator or business, free to set up) your insights show the top countries and cities of your followers. A personal account does not have those insights. Keep in mind that a professional account is always public, so you cannot combine it with a private profile.

Without insights you can take a sample: open your list of followers and check which language your newest followers use in their bio and posts.

How to get more Dutch followers for free

1. Write in Dutch

Your bio, your captions and the text in your reels. People are quicker to follow an account they understand straight away, and it also makes clear to Instagram who your posts are for. If you talk in your reels, do that in Dutch too.

Not fluent (yet)? Plenty of people in the Netherlands are comfortable with English, but a Dutch caption shows at a glance who you are talking to. Start with a short Dutch line above your English text, and ask a Dutch speaker to check your bio.

2. Add a location

Tag your city, your neighbourhood or the place you are at on your posts and reels. That makes it easier for people nearby to find you. For a shop, hairdresser or restaurant it is one of the simplest ways to be found locally.

3. Use Dutch hashtags and keywords

Choose hashtags that only exist in Dutch or are tied to a place, such as #kapperutrecht (hairdresser Utrecht), #hardlopenamsterdam (running Amsterdam) or #nederlandsemuziek (Dutch music). Words that are the same in English, such as #fitness or #makeup, mostly bring you an international audience. At the time of writing you can use a maximum of five hashtags per post or reel, so choose them carefully.

4. Team up with Dutch accounts

Make a collab post with a business in your area or a creator on the same topic. The post then appears on both profiles, so you are seen by each other’s followers. For a shop that could be the business next door, for a musician the venue where you play.

5. Comment on Dutch accounts in your niche

Follow the larger Dutch accounts in your niche and region, and leave comments there that add something. Their followers are exactly the audience you are looking for, and a good comment is an invitation to click through to your profile.

6. Join in with Dutch moments

King’s Day, Sinterklaas, the first warm day of the year or a local event: topics that only live in the Netherlands speak to Dutch people straight away and are easily passed on. Foreign accounts don’t join in, so they help you stand out.

7. Post at Dutch times

Plan your posts for when the Netherlands is awake and online. That matters most if you live in another time zone: Dutch time is one hour ahead of UTC in winter and two hours in summer. If you have insights, check when your own followers are most active and post just before that.

8. Bring your existing contacts along

Your customers, fans and contacts in the Netherlands are the easiest place to start. Put your Instagram on your website, in your newsletter and in your email signature, share it in your WhatsApp status, and put up the QR code of your profile in your shop (you will find it in the app when you share your profile).

9. Advertise to people in the Netherlands

If you are willing to pay for reach, you can promote a post or reel and choose people in the Netherlands as the audience, or only people in your own city. It costs money, but it puts you in front of Dutch people who decide for themselves whether to follow you. Start with a small budget and a post that already did well with your current followers.

Buying Dutch Instagram followers: what do you get?

If you don’t want to wait for your Dutch audience to grow by itself, you can buy Dutch Instagram followers from us. This is how it works:

  • You get followers from 100% real and active Dutch profiles: ordinary Instagram users in the Netherlands who are invited through a network to follow you, and who get a reward for doing so. We don’t manage those accounts ourselves.
  • Because they are real people, they sometimes like or comment too. That is not guaranteed: they follow you because they were invited, not because they already knew you.
  • Delivery starts automatically after your payment. The followers then come in gradually, often spread over a number of days, because people follow you one by one.
  • We only need your username, never your password. Your account has to be public and stay public until all the followers are in, and don’t change your username during that time.
  • Instagram doesn’t allow buying in its terms, and people can also unfollow you again. Usually 10 to 20 percent drops off, mostly in the first week. We refill that free of charge within 90 days.
  • We can’t promise more reach or new customers. What you buy is a Dutch base for your account.

We have delivered over 230,000 Dutch Instagram followers so far. Using Instagram for a business or as an influencer? Then read whether buying likes is legal first: since 28 May 2022 it has been forbidden in the EU to mislead consumers with bought followers or likes.

If what you mainly need is a bigger number, you can also combine the two: a base of regular followers, with Dutch followers on top. That is a good deal cheaper than doing it all with Dutch followers.

What to steer clear of

  • Apps or sites that promise free Dutch followers and ask you to log in with Instagram. Never give your password to a service like that.
  • Taking over a ready-made account with followers. You don’t know who those followers are or why they follow it, and Instagram’s terms don’t allow accounts to be sold or transferred.
  • A lot of followers at once on a small account. A jump from 300 to 10,000 followers stands out and doesn’t match the rest of your profile. Grow in steps instead.

Frequently asked questions about Dutch followers on Instagram

Can I buy Instagram followers from the Netherlands?

Yes. Our Dutch Instagram followers are 100% real and active Dutch profiles: ordinary Instagram users in the Netherlands who are invited to follow you. We don’t manage those accounts ourselves. If you only need a higher number, our regular Instagram followers are cheaper, but they are real-looking profiles, not active people from the Netherlands.

How fast do Dutch followers come in?

Delivery starts automatically after your payment. The followers then come in gradually, often spread over a number of days, and longer with larger amounts. If nothing has been added after a few days, send us a message through the live chat or at support@likes-kopen.nl.

Can I get Dutch followers for free?

Yes, by building them yourself: write in Dutch, tag your location, team up with Dutch accounts and comment on accounts in your region. Apps that promise free Dutch followers usually ask you to log in with your Instagram account. Don’t do that.

What is the difference with regular Instagram followers?

Regular followers are real-looking, high-quality profiles. They count towards your number of followers, but they are not active people. Dutch followers are real people in the Netherlands; they cost more and come in more slowly.

Will the Dutch followers stay?

Most of them do. People can also unfollow you again, usually in the first week. If your number drops within 90 days, we top it up free of charge, as long as your account is public and your username hasn’t changed.
