Roughly what you can ask

Sources: Collabstr (more than 21,000 deals), Influencer Marketing Hub, Hootsuite, Modash, OMR and agency rate cards from the Netherlands and Belgium. Everything happens in your own browser.

    How does the calculator work?

The calculator uses an amount per 1,000 followers that differs per type of post: a Reel costs more than a photo, a set of Stories less. The amounts come from international data, such as more than 21,000 completed deals on the Collabstr platform, the rates of Influencer Marketing Hub and Hootsuite, and rate cards of Dutch, Belgian and German agencies.

For video, an amount per 1,000 views works better, because many viewers don’t follow you: about €10 to €35 for short videos and €15 to €50 for YouTube. If your engagement rate is much higher or lower than normal for your size, the calculator takes that into account.

A rule of thumb you often hear is $100 or €100 per 10,000 followers for a post. That roughly matches the middle estimate for an Instagram post, but German agencies now call the rule outdated: views, engagement and your topic weigh more.

What do you add on top?

    • Usage rights for ads. If the brand wants to use your content in ads, you charge more. In deals on Collabstr, the price with usage rights was 39% higher on average.
    • Whitelisting or Spark Ads. If the brand advertises through your account, add about 20 to 50%.
    • Exclusivity. If you can’t work with competitors for a while, add a surcharge, depending on how big the restriction is.
    • VAT and agency. The amounts exclude VAT. If you work through an agency, their share comes off.

    Negotiating and getting paid

The result is an asking price. Brands often negotiate: on Collabstr they paid about 10% below the asking price on average, and German agencies mention 20 to 30%. Below 10,000 followers, brands often pay in products rather than money.

When brands usually start paying, and which rules apply when you are paid or get something for free, is covered in how many followers you need to make money. You can work out your engagement rate with our engagement rate calculator.

    More followers for your profile?

Brands look at your numbers, but also at your posts and your comments. Our standard followers are real-looking, high-quality profiles; our Dutch Instagram followers are 100% real, active Dutch profiles.

    Questions about influencer rates

How much can you charge for an Instagram post?

Many creators charge about €5 to €25 per 1,000 followers, with around €10 as a middle value. At 10,000 followers that is about €50 to €250. A high engagement rate, usage rights or exclusivity make it more.

How much does a TikTok video from an influencer cost?

On TikTok, brands prefer to work with views: about €10 to €35 per 1,000 average views. At 25,000 views per video that is about €250 to €880, with around €500 as a middle value.

Is $100 per 10,000 followers still a good rule?

As a rough start for an Instagram post, yes. But brands look more and more at views and engagement, and for video your follower count says little.

    Is the calculator free?

Yes, without an account. The calculation happens in your own browser: we do not send or keep anything.
