How to customize the category Facebook page
On this page, we cover such issues as how to change the Facebook page category and why. You may change the page category indefinitely, so as often as you like. The change is made immediately and is immediately visible.
The steps below (below the line) are no longer applicable. In fact, Facebook has changed the way. From now on it has become even easier!
Step 1: Login to your profile
Step 2: Click on INFO in the left menu bar
Step 3: Directly under the “general” heading is the category. Behind category it says “Edit” and you can click on that.
Step 4: Now categories may already have something filled in. Adding often fails but modifying does. To do this, you must first delete the current category. You do this by clicking on the cross directly behind the indicated category. Then you can think of a category and save it.
Adjustments may be made without restriction and are processed immediately on your page. If you don’t like the chosen category, just change it again.

Where do people see the category of my Facebook page
►The location where people can see which category your Facebook page falls under is at the top right, below the cover photo. See image below.
How do I change the category of my page?
►Click ‘info’ on the left side of your page. It can be found in the left menu under “Home Page. See image.
►Then hover your mouse over the category after which ‘Edit’ appears. Then click edit. See image.
NOTE: The steps below are from before the Facebook update. Above are the steps as it is done today.
►Then you will see the below appear where you can choose the main category and subcategory.
What categories can I choose from
You have a main category and a subcategory. The subcategory goes a little deeper into the main category.
Below you can see the main categories. Click one of the main categories so you can see which subcategories fall under it.

Why change the category?
There may be 2 reasons to change your category. The first reason is because there is a more appropriate main or subcategory that better fits your page.
The second reason is that when the page category is set to “music/band,” delivery of likes is very slow and laborious. Therefore, we ask that you temporarily change the category. Once you have all the likes in, you can easily reset the category. This has no further consequences and the new category is then immediately visible.
TIP: Set the page temporarily to “persons”/”known person.
